Jameson Whiskey (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) Jameson is an Irish whiskey. The company was founded by John Jameson, who built his whiskey distillery in Dublinin the year 1780. The Cork Distillers company joined forces with their rivals John Jameson and John Powers to form the Irish Distillers Group in 1966. The Midletondistillery built by Irish Distillers now produces most of the Irish Whiskey sold in Ireland. Jameson Irish whiskey is produced from a mixture of maltedand unmalted Irish barley. The barley is then dried in a closed kiln fired by clean-burning anthracitecoal to preserve its clean malty flavors. The Jameson brand is owned by French drinks conglomerate Pernod Ricard
