More Information
Jonathan 'Dean' Swift was a man of many talents. He was Dean of St Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin but it better known as world famous writer and philosopher, his most famous work being 'Gulliver's Travels'. The reverse of the note features a detail of a famous map of Dublin published in 1756.
The overall theme from this note is based on Irish Architecture and learning in the 18th Century. There were 353,000,000 of these notes issued, most of these were exchanged for the £10 C Series James Joyce bank note in 1993 and the bulk of the remaining notes were cashed in during the Euro changeover in 2001. This is an original note in circulated condition.
