Sinn Fein Republican Propaganda Labels

These labels were issued by the republican movement between the years of 1907 to 1916. The purpose of these labels was to foster republican propaganda and symbolise Irish Nationhood. These labels were prohibited for postal usage on the front of an envelope but could be featured on the reverse of correspondences. These labels were designed by Mrs Lilly Williams from ideas suggested by Arthur Griffith. These items are generall known as Sinn Fein 'Stamps'. These labels are extremely scarce and are much sought after by bothserious stamp collectors and collectors of Irish historical memorabilia.
